Life at Galago Camp revolves around the lovingly refurbished farmhouse with its large, cottage-style kitchen and open-plan living area. An expansive covered verandah provides stunning views out over the surrounding bush and there is a large, outdoor covered dining area as well as plenty of outdoor seating and lounging areas. A private and secluded swimming pool gives everyone the chance to relax in the sun and cool off when needed.
Like all of Djuma’s lodges, Galago is very much about outdoor living, encouraging guests to spend as much time under the expansive African sky as possible. A dedicated braai area is positioned just off the verandah and is the go-to area of an evening. A braai (it rhymes with “eye” and is the South African vernacular for a barbecue) is the ideal way to finish up a day in the bush, gathering around a fire, drinks in hand, under a canopy of stars, surrounded by the night-time sounds of wild Africa.
To one side of the braai area there is a pathway that leads to a large, secluded viewing platform overlooking a waterhole where elephants and a variety of plains game are often seen quenching their thirst. This is the perfect spot for morning coffee before embarking on a game drive!
