| Is the wall plug moving?
Gerry and Sandy, who visited Djuma recently after having visited Djuma virtually for several weeks (at the Africam site, www.africam.com), were surprised to wake up one night with the electrical wall plug moving! Upon investigation Sandy convinced Gerry that she was in fact correct and it was not a figment of her imagination! Once convinced that the wall plug was moving, Gerry tried to speculate what in fact was making the wall plug move. He suggested a gecko, or maybe a mouse, but Sandy did not buy this explanation! The whole of the wall plug was moving, in a jerky manner. Eventually the wall plug stopped moving and Gerry and Sandy went back to sleep, still mystified. But this was not to be a restful night for them! A couple of hours later they awoke to a strange noise almost like being in a boat. The floor of the chalet was an inch under water! We had received an unusually heavy cloud burst. Soon the staff had the room cleaned up and Gerry and Sandy could return to bed for what was left of the night! The next morning they mentioned their mystifying experience during the night and the rangers investigated. They found clear evidence of a young hyena, which for some reason only hyenas will understand, decided to pull on the wiring outside! Sandy and Gerry were seeing the effects of a hyena playing tug-of-war with the wiring! His game was obviously abruptly ended when he bit into the live wire! I will wager that he has been cured of playing tug-of-war! |
