• They are only found living in and around broad leafed woodland savannah
• Their habits are roughly the same as the Black Backed Jackal, except the Side Striped is thought not to hunt as much.
• They weigh between 7-12.5kg.
• Females give birth to 3-6 pups in a litter after a gestation of about 2 months.

Predators:

Leopard sometimes kills adults and python, Martial Eagle and Caracal often take the pups.
