In
the Ranger's Diary we tend to concentrate on the -Big Five- or
rather the -Big Seven- since these are the most popular animals.
The -Big Seven- includes lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, buffalo,
cheetah and wild dog. The term -Big Five- (the first five animals
listed) was historically used to denote the five most dangerous
animals to hunt in Africa. Fortunately the term is now used to
describe the most popular animals.

- Leopard female and 2 cubs were found at tamboti dam drinking water.
- Elephant breeding herd was found at central road grazing to the north.

- Rhino bull was found at rubbing post dam drinking water.
- Elephant breeding herd was found at Gowrie dam drinking water.
- Leopard female was found at cheetah cut line hunting some impalas.

- Cheetah male was found at vrystaart clearing lying down.
- Buffalo breeding herd was found at second rock grazing to the west.
- Leopard female was found at hyena road feeding on the francolin kill.

- Lion 1 male was found again still lying down on the same spot.
- Buffalo breeding herd was found at big dam drinking water.
- Rhino 4 bulls and 1 female were found at impala plain grazing to the south.

- Elephant breeding herd was found at hippo pull road grazing to the north.
- Rhino bull was found at pipe line road grazing to the east.
- Leopard male was found at kudu corner feeding on the Ant vark kill.
- Buffalo 4 bulls were found at mvubu road lying down.
PM
- Leopard female was found at cheetah cut line feeding on the impala kill.
- Elephant breeding herd was found at buffalo’s hoek dam drinking water.
- Elephant breeding herd was found at Gowrie dam drinking some water.
- Leopard male was found at kudu corner still feeding on the Ant eater kill.

- Leopard mother and 1 cub were found at pipe line road lying down.
- Lioness 1 female and 3 cubs were found at long pole east lying down.
- Elephant bull was found at central road drinking water.
- Leopard mother and 2 cubs were found at cheetah cut line feeding on the impala kill.

- Lioness 1 female and 3 cubs were found at long pole east still lying down on the same spot.
- Leopard mother and 2 cubs were found at cheetah cut line still feeding on the impala kill.
- Buffalo 4 bulls were found at long pole west lying down.

- Leopard male was found at Jacobin exit lying down.
- Buffalo breeding herd was found at 3 in row clearing lying down.
