On 18 March 2004 Hananani Primary School in Dixie Village received a large gift from Nicole Perry, a constable with the New South Wales - Australia - police force. Nicole visited Djuma Game Reserve last year and during her stay went to visit the Village of Dixie. It is here that she met Alex Siwela, principal of Hananani Primary. It was immediately clear to her that any help would make a difference and gratefully accepted. Upon her return to Australia she set about to inspire others to collect stationary and text book supplies for Hananani. She did this with such conviction that 15 schools contributed a total of 90 boxes, or a ton-and-a-half of supplies! Several Rotary members across the world helped to ship the supplies over to South Africa and eventually to Dixie Village. In a moving speech Mr Alex Siwela thanked her for the effort, and the thought. |
