SCRUB
HARE Lepus saxatilis They usually feed on grass but will invade gardens where available. They are normally found alone unless in season or with young. They spend the day lying in forms, found under bush or thickets. If approached they remain still and use a quick burst of speed to surprise and escape predators. They are very quick runners and are capable of swimming. A female will give birth to 1-3 young after a gestation period of 1.5 months. |
