Drum Beat

George Pransche

George Pransche from Munich, and his family, were guests at Djuma Game Reserve last year. He joined us as a student helper earlier this year and has recently had to add to his list of duties and responsibilities. He is on elephant duty at night, meaning he has to stay up and chase any marauding behemoth that is intent on sampling Djuma’s garden. This time of the year, just before the annual rains start, sees a lot of animals under pressure as the vegetation dries away. Consequently the lush gardens of the camp becomes the target not only of elephants, but also bushbuck, duiker, steenbok, scrub hare just to mention a few.
