| Dear
Helen, I still dream about Africa and the wonderful stay we had at Djuma Vuyatela back in December. It it so easy to get carried away by Africa and and that is exactly what we were. What a wonderful team you have at Djuma! We enjoyed the most fantastic stay. Thank you ever so much for your hospitality, it was a trip of a lifetime and we will share our experience with colleagues, clients and friends. Djuma is a lovely and extrodinary place! We are overwhelmed. Please give our warmest regards to everybody at Djuma and tell them we are longing back to the bush but we follow closely what is going on in the bush via your Webcam. Take care and all the best wishes for the New Year! Warmest regards from a snowy north! Inger Rolander Sweden December 2002 |

| My
dear Madame, Back in Rome I have spoken about you, your lovely place, your beautiful children, etc. etc. to my daughter. We appreciated to stay at Vuyatela, very much indeed. Peter was an excellent guide. After over 30 years of safaris we are good connoisseurs. We liked your warm welcome and we will surely repeat this experience with other members of our big family. Hoping to hear from you soon all the best for this New Year 2003, with my best regards, Gabriella Bargigli Salvetti Italy December 2002 |

| Dear
Charmain, I thought you might like to see these beautiful pictures that were taken of a junior male Leopard in December, definitely should be on your website. We had a wonderful 3 days our visitors thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Ephraim was truly amazing with sightings and ensuring we got the best out of every drive. Looking forward to spending more time with you all in the not too distant future. Best wishes and kind regards to everyone Barbara & Alan Holcroft & Party South Africa December 2002 |

| Dear
All, Jonathan and I just wanted to say thank you for a truly amazing safari experience (beginning of December), we can't stop talking about it and have bored everyone back home to death with our video and photo footage!! Chris - we are busily spreading the word of the sport of dung spitting and eagerly await Leon's email with news of when they may be in London for a contest! We've only been back in England a matter of days (we went to Mauritius and then down to Cape Town/Garden Route) but as I sit here at my 9-5 office job, watching the rain outside, wearing my winter woollies, South Africa seems like months ago! I am passing the hours reading the Rangers Diary on our website which is great, only waiting to be caught by the boss now! Hope you all had an amazing Christmas, thank you all again for not only an excellent honeymoon but also a great birthday. Kind regards and all the best for 2003. | Hi
Pendrae Now that we are back in the thick of the English winter we just wanted to send you a note of thanks. Our stay at Djuma surpassed all our expectations and was the perfect end to our holiday. We would like to pass on our thanks to all of the lodge staff who made us feel like part of the family. The food was wonderful - we need a serious diet now to recover! Jimmy and Abel were fantastic and their enthusiasm was infectious. They did a superb job - what a team. We had some really exciting trips. We didn't get chance to say a personal thanks to Jimmy so would appreciate it if you would do this on our behalf. We would like to wish you all the best for Christmas and New Year and hope that we get the chance to come back and stay with you again. Regards Stephanie & Pete UK November 2002 |

| Hi
All Just thought I would put the fingers on the keyboard and write a quick thank you letter to you guys. We spent 4 days with you all at Vuyatela; it was extra special in that it was our Honeymoon as well. We were totally blown away by what we got in return for a long flight! The place is a dream come true for us. We both adore animals and Vuyatela was the perfect place to be to see a selection of the wondrous animals Africa has to offer. The accommodation is first class; it is luxurious without taking away the authentic bush feel. The staff is exceptional at what they do, taking care to make sure everything is as it should be and more. We would like to express our thanks to Jimmy, Milliah, Bill, Steve, Rexon and Aubrey. Bill and Rexon were our Rangers with Aubs as the tracker. They did an excellent job at finding the game everyday using their exceptional knowledge and senses. Aubs also took the time out to take us to the local villages Dixie and Utha, which we must say was a complete eye opener! We felt very privileged and honoured to be guest in such a close-knit community, we even went into one of the schools and spoke to Aubs' Grandmother of 92! We loved every moment of the 4 days that we were there and wished we could have stayed longer. Still, we will be back next year for sure. Thanks once again to all of you. You do such a great job at making people like myself and my wife very happy. Robert & Jeanette Marshall UK October 2002 |

| Dear
Mark Please pass on our thanks to all your staff, we had the most fabulous time with you, everything was wonderful we cannot find fault in anything. You must have worked so hard at getting everything 'just right'. Please say Hi to Chris and Difference, they really made our holiday. We would recommend your lodge to anyone coming to South Africa, and will if we get the chance, hopefully return ourselves in the not too distant future! Thanks again Paul, Belinda, Harriet and Ellis UK October 2002 |

| Bruce
& Jenny Ralph would like to thank all the Staff at Bush Lodge for once
again giving us such a wonderful few days . Please especially thank Pieter
and Abel for so cleverly finding everything (well almost everything) we
requested including Wild Dog! Thank you also to Edward, Liane and Life for
making us so welcome, we have our photos and video now to cheer us up here
as winter sets in! We enjoyed our other camps but Djuma is special, we will
recommend you and we will be back! UK October 2002 |

Pippa and Jurie Once again many thanks for a wonderful experience. Not only were the game sightings and drives very exciting and rewarding but the bush experience around your fire place at Galago was just as special. We thoroughly relaxed and everyone had a tremendous time. It was lovely to see you all again and marvel at how talented you both are. If you come to Jo-burg with a moment or evening to spare, please look us up and share a meal or drink. Keep well, and keep in touch. Ian and Stephanie Lowe South Africa October 2002 |

| Dear
Kim and Edward, We were residents with you for a couple of days at the end of September - in fact the visit was our finale to an amazing holiday experience in the Kruger. We wish to express how very special our time was with you. Although only a two-night stay - would have preferred more - due to the delightful welcome and un-pressured atmosphere. We immediately felt enclosed in a 'family atmosphere' that offered us a time to relax and be taken care of. Thank you. After nearly 3 weeks of being very much on our own, through choice, as a means to re-charge our batteries with our busy lives in U.K., we felt the social aspect of the lodge would be quite an effort - but in fact due to your commitment and discretion was a very special time for us both. We met delightful people, made a remarkable bond with Albert and Vera who we will be in touch to share photos, as at different times our films ran out!! Is it the apprehension/challenge that draws people together so instantly? Thank you Edward for arranging the visit with Abel to his village - we felt extremely privileged and humbled during this visit, and will continue to pray for these communities and address the support we may be able to offer. Also your company as we waited to leave the lodge, which was a particularly low time for us, and your last wave as we took off to Skukuza and homewards, thank you. We hope Piet is now on his journey to obtain his Diploma. His fresh enthusiasm and knowledge during our rides will always stay with us. Kim, I hope you managed to repair your skirt after lifting my heavy case - sorry. Thank you for your personal support and company at dinner. Thank you for putting 'the icing on the cake' for a holiday we had saved and planned for over the past year. Please extend our appreciation to the staff that all contributed in making us comfortable, especially for the little flowers when our bed was turned down - a delightful touch. With our very best wishes and blessings. Gwen and Drew McKnight United Kingdom September 2002 |

| To
all you very special people: Thank you all for your hospitality, friendliness, awesome food and setting at Vuyatela and for the memories of the drives, the laughs, the wonderful game viewing and new friendships made. We were indeed privileged to have been invited to "heaven" and our memories will surely linger on long after the African dust of Djuma is washed off. You are, each and everyone one of you a very special person and it is this very essence that makes the "Vuyatela Team" so special. Liane, Kim, Peter, Abel and all at Djuma, I would like to thank you warmly for the wonderful time I had last week at Djuma. I have to say that Kim's laugh and Liane's kindness give "something more" to Djuma Lodge! I keep some wonderful memories of my first drives with Peter & Abel and they have to know that they are those with who I saw all the "Big Five" on the same morning! I appreciated their professionalism and kindness as well as their brilliant smiles! I have some pictures of my visit to the village. I'll send them by mail and will be grateful if you can give them to the people in Dixie. I don't want to tell you how crowded it is in Paris! I really miss the Bush with its amazing sceneries and hope I will come back sooner or later! Kind regards, Catherine France September 2002 |

| Liane,
Kim, Jimmy, Abel, Life and all at Bush Lodge This is just a quick email to again say thank very much for the wonderful time that we had with you last week. It is hard to believe, having been back in air con offices and in the cold and wet of Leeds for the last few days, that this time last week we were just leaving the bush in South Africa! We have been on your website this afternoon and also had a look at Africam to remind ourselves of the adventures we had while with you - however it has just made us more depressed to be home! We had a great time in South Africa but the definite highlight was the time at Djuma - we saw more on the safari's than we could have anticipated - and particular thanks must go to Jimmy and Abel whose determination to ensure we saw the most that we could, while we had absolute confidence in them regarding our safety, really made our trip. (Although Kirsten was a bit concerned about how close we were to the bull elephant on one of the drives!) Jimmy will be pleased to hear that we bought a wildlife book at the airport so that we can distinguish elephants from giraffes! We shall be recommending Djuma to all our friends and family - and we hope that we can return in the not too distant future. In the meantime, we shall make do with Africam... Best wishes Roger and Kirsten McCourt UK September 2002 |

| Dear
Ed, Liane, Kim and all at Djuma Bush Lodge On our return to London, A'isha and I would just like to send our thanks to you all at Djuma for making our visit there the best vacation we have ever had. We arrived apprehensive & not knowing what to expect and left feeling that we have experiences something most wonderful. Right from the start you made us feel so welcome and the drives with Pete and Morris - they both tried so hard to show us as many animals as possible and explain their habits, etc., whilst listening out for the next radio call for the next sighting, made a really thrilling and fascinating stay. We called them our "hunts" when after receiving a call Pete took us off racing through the bush to the sightings. Of course, it goes without saying that the food in the Lodge was superb - please pass on our thanks to the ladies who cooked for us, the lady who explained every evening what the menu would be, and especially the lady who ventured out in darkness and brought our early morning tea to our lodge - esp when the lions were around the area after a kill from the night before! We learnt so very much - much more than any documentary channel on the TV. At present on TV they are showing Safari School - Eco Training about taking 5 city people and training them to be rangers - needless to say A'isha and I are glued to this program... We will never forget this experience. Again, please extend our gratitude to all of the great people at Bush Lodge. We hope to see you again sometime! Franka Ahmad UK August 2002 |

Charmian, How do we begin to thank you and the Djuma team for the wonderful time you gave us last week? Words fail me when it comes to expressing how much pleasure we had and how kind all the staff at Bush Lodge were to us. They were fantastic and did all they could for us. We also met some super people amongst the other guests and each and every one of the staff was exceptional. Our visit to you will stay with us for the rest of our lives and we will treasure the video and photos taken during our drives and walks. Again, sincere thanks and good wishes to such good and kind people. Sincerely, John and Joy Bishop South Africa August 2002 |

| Thank
you Vuyatela! Hello from England. This is Alice Banbury and I recently visited Vuyatela on my first safari. It was the most amazing experience of my life, and one I certainly will not forget. But I would like to ask you something - while I was there we visited Dixie village and thoroughly enjoyed our visit, but having returned home we have thought it would have been nice to have given a little more. We realise that they have recently had a school built and the children at my school wondered if they could give something to the Dixie school. I wondered whether the school needed anything (or just the children) and whether it would be possible for us to send this to them - as a gift from my school to their school. Please could you email me back with the relevant information so I can tell my friends? Lots of love, Alice Banbury (age 13) England, UK August 2002 |

Liane, I was part of the Habitat group that stayed with you in June and I just want to say how much I enjoyed my stay - when it was time to go I realized that I could have happily stayed for weeks!! The rest of my travels were incredibly fun though so it's always hard - so much to do and so little time. I'm just sorting through the photos - and although as pictures they are not that great they do evoke the memories - all those leopards and lions! So hello to everyone especially Peter, Patrick, Edward, and Kim, - I hope this finds you all well and I hope that I can return and visit your magical place again sooner rather than later. Regards, Barbra Matis NY, USA June 2002 |

Thanks to Rob, Landi, Steve, Nicole, Jimmy, and everyone for making the experience restful and fun. I will DEFINITELY be back and will suggest your lodge to others looking to experience Africa! Hopefully I will have some pictures to share with you soon, too... Thanks again, Chris Amy Ohio, USA June 2002 |

All at Bush Lodge & Vuyatela Having recently returned from spending 2 nights at both of the above lodges, I wish to express my thanks to all of the management & staff for making my 40th Birthday such a memorable occasion. Right from the moment we were collected at the airstrip, we felt as if everybody was really intent on helping us enjoy ourselves, though it was done so in a relaxed & friendly manner. The whole experience for us was one that we will never forget, including the high standard of accommodation, and the fantastic cuisine at both lodges. Without exception, everybody that we came in contact with helped make our stay an enjoyable one. Special Thanks, though, must go to the Rangers & Trackers - Piet & Morris, and Chris & Solly, for their fascinating & informative Game Drives. To be so close to the wildlife in their natural habitat was such a thrill. I have no reservations about thoroughly recommending your facilities to anybody in the future, & indeed would dearly love to come back and see you all again soon. I have enclosed a CD-ROM of the photo's from the trip. Please feel free to include any worthy images on your website. (Have a look in the Guest Gallery). Thanks once again, Yours Sincerely, Des & Rainah Bennett UK May 2002 |

Charmian, You might remember that some time ago we have been exchanging some messages regarding a leopard we haven't seen for several years and that we assumed could be your big male, Three Spots (at least from what Neil and Toni Ponting had told us. We decided to spend three nights in Djuma earlier this month despite the fact that the "CV" and the picture you so kindly provided for "Three Spots" could not possibly correspond to our big male. And it was really an excellent decision.... For at least two reasons: first because Djuma is a great place : friendly, quiet, with an excellent staff to look after the guests (congratulations to all!). A place you definitely want to be back to... - second because it happens that, quite unexpectedly, Three Spots has been challenged for the past few months by another big male who definitely IS our male, "Prince", also called "Shavati" in Djuma. What a treat ! We haven't seen him but, at least, we know he is alive and in great condition. We would like you to know that our ranger, Chris, has been doing a fantastic job in trying to find out whether our pictures of Prince and Shavati's pictures available in Djuma and in the adjacent camps could match. We are really very grateful for all his efforts. Now we have to go back to Djuma and be more lucky in the tracking of this animal. Thank you to you, to Chris (a million times), to Rob, and to the whole staff. Kind regards. Yves and Jacqueline France May 2002 |

Djuma people, Thank you for an unforgettable honeymoon. We had a great time staying with you. Although we stayed only 3 nights we have more than enough stories to tell. Chris and Solly were excellent in finding the animals. Rob and Landi have been wonderful hosts and helped in making it a wonderful experience. Thank you and hopefully we will see each other soon. Charmian: I just wanted to thank you for organizing my safari trip on such short notice - less than 1 week; I had the most fantastic time. If you ever need any recommendations to Bush Lodge in Djuma, just steer them my way. Travelling alone can often mean missing out on some things, however the staff at the Lodge went out of their way to make you feel included in every activity. The game viewing was unbelievable and the accommodations were just what I needed to relax and unwind. Please pass this on to your boss as a total recommendation of your services. I put you in a spot to clean up the jam another company left me in and you could not have done a better job. I have been recommending the Lodge and your services to everyone who is interested in travelling to South Africa. Thank you again for one of the best vacations in my life. Cheers! Charmian, Rob, Chris, Solly, Mark and all at Vuyatela Bula to you all! Well I just wanted to send through a quick note to say "thank you so much" for making our honeymoon so memorable! Robyn and I had an absolutely fabulous time at Vuyatela (Djuma) and we have not stopped raving about our 4 days with you. I do know that Robyn also wants to send through a "joint" thank you but in the mean time I wanted to let you know that of the whole time we had away the 4 days at Vuyatela was the best! We have some great pictures and I will try and email some through (technology isn't my strong point but we will try!). A joint note will come through soon but as I head back to Fiji on the weekend I did want to say "vinaka vakalevu" (thanks so much) for making our trip to South Africa - one of dreams! Kindest regards Andrew Gee Australia April 2002 |

Again It really is shock to find ourselves back at our desks in London! To think only a day or two ago we were with you in the bush 6000 miles away.... We just wanted to say thank you again for such a wonderful experience and for making us so welcome at Djuma. I have already been recommending Djuma to everyone I meet!! The camp is beautiful, the food amazing, the wildlife breathtaking and the staff just brilliant. Special thanks to Kim, Liane, Piet, Morris, Ed and Life - you guys helped make the last part of our South African experience the best part. Charmain, On behalf of all our group we would like to thank management and staff for the wonderful experience we shared at Galago Camp, Djuma, recently. The three days we spent there were magnificent and your weather arrangements were fantastic, please tell us how you do it. Special thanks to Ephraim and William for some wonderful sightings - Ephraim's knowledge of the Fauna and Flora is incredible and he is without doubt a tremendous asset to your group. Max was also outstanding in the kitchen, as were the cleaning staff. There is no doubt that this will become an annual meeting place for many of us. Our best wishes to you all. Charmian: I could write you a thank you note a mile long. It would include personal accounts from all 22 (if our trip members. It would include about 30 hilarious events and quotes that we will remember for the rest of our lives. Finally it would include about, say 1,000 digital pictures of the amazing things we saw while in Sabi Sands. Needless to say, staying at the Vuyatela and Bush lodges was the highlight of our trip. Because of what we experienced, we will have no trouble selling future Kellogg students on why they should want to travel to South Africa for their GIM trip. On a personal note, I would like to extend my thanks to all of your staff, especially the game rangers. I have spent most of my working career in the hospitality industry with six years at Pebble Beach Company in Northern California. I have been trained to be on the look out for poor service and pitfalls in hospitality operations. I hate to admit it, but I expected to sec three-star service and accommodations due to the remoteness of your operation. What I saw was nothing short of five-star accommodation from sunrise to sunset. Your game rangers especially know how to deliver a quality product. With a little marketing, you should have no problem filling up the lodges year round. My hat is off to you for overseeing such a quality resort. Now that we are back in the United States, our work is not done. We have project papers to write and present to the class, In addition, we are preparing a ten-minute slide show that will highlight some of the fantastic experiences we had while in South Africa, We hope to use this presentation to communicate to the rest of the 1,200 students at Kellogg that South Africa is a country ripe with beauty, activity, and promise. This presentation will also serve to sell future trips so that more and more incoming Kellogg students will be enticed to visit South Africa next year. On behalf of myself and my fellow student leaders Steve Atkins, Glenn Coleman, Kim Rosenkoetter, and Arnicia Fleming, and our faculty advisor Angela Lee, we wish to convey our sincere appreciation for all you have done to make this year's trip a rousing success. We thank you for your time and look forward to strengthening our relationship with you through future class trips to South Africa. Brent Reid USA March 2002 |

Hi there Rob and Landi, We're home in Los Angeles now...got home on Sunday from our last stop in Zurich, Switzerland where we visited Charlie's sister and brother-in-law. You're the first e-mail I've written because I have to tell you that I absolutely cannot stop thinking about our experience at Vuyatela. It was the most incredible place I've ever been to. My heart is aching to be back in the bush. I think you guys are so lucky and blessed to be able to live there. I was so sad to leave that I cried from the minute I got in the Land Rover to leave all the way until we got to Nelspruit. I am absolutely astonished at the effect the bush had on me and how "at home" I felt there. I literally cannot get it out of my mind. It was funny ... the night we got home from Vuyatela, the four of us ordered room service at the hotel in Jo'burg and all sat around the tiny video camera screen to watch the video David had shot during our stay there. He captured some wonderful memories and I'm very grateful to have them. Thank you both so much for your incredible warmth and hospitatlity. I will never forget the wonderful "dinner parties" you hosted ... they were absolutely magical. I'm still working on trying to convince David that Vuyatela would be the absolutely perfect place to get married (or at very least to have our honeymoon). David loved it there too (he was very moved by the beauty and serenity of the bush and the amazing accomodations and hospitality of Vuyatela ... so I don't think it will take much to get him to agree). Landi...it was so wonderful of you to call us ... we were within minutes of leaving for the airport to go to Zurich and it absolutely cheered us up that you called and were thinking of us. Send our best to everyone. I'm going to e-mail Steve as soon as I've finished this one. He was fantastic too ... we had a lot of fun with him and got a great education on our game drives ... they far surpassed our expectations. Thank you both for making our stay so wonderful. Your hospitality was warmth will not be forgotten. All
the best, February 2002 |

| Hi
Charmian Sincere thanks from the whole family for the most wonderful weekend at Galago. The extra touches and effort in accommodating us all were greatly appreciated. Ephraim, as usual, was an absolute star and we now have several budding game rangers in the family. Even the five year old can identify a flying banana! And your husband - well, what can I say! Please thank Graham - he was also terrific. Jackie Arnot SA January 2002 |
