Why is it neccesary to always add a string of characters with the comments ??

Lars, to answer your question, this is to prevent the weblog from being spammed by automated spam bots. Only humans can read the string of graphics in the image, so computer programs designed to spam websites automatically get stuck at this point.

If you would like avoid having to enter your name, email address and the string of characters each time, you can register as a member on the blog. If you are logged in when posting comments, you will not be required to pass the spam test each time.
