Well that’s is what they say, if you look up Ndumo on the web, the Kwazulu-Natal Parks write rave reviews about the area, singing its praises to the highest degree as do the tourism organizations.

For obvious reasons I have tried not to mention guests by name, but I cannot help naming Sven Trautner. The first time they visited Djuma must have been about 1995, because I took the enquiry when the “office” was still behind the bar at Bush Lodge. I must have said something right, because Sven and his wife Else Beth, from Denmark, arrived after attending to some business in Johannesburg. It turned out that Sven was the head of the trauma unit at a hospital in Copenhagen.

Fanode a great guy who's name confuses the hell out of all who have the privelege of meeting him. Began work at Djuma, starting out as doing the gardens in 2006.
He is now a tracker working alot with Texan, but also does some fill in tracking where ever he is needed.
I simply have not met anyone who has not had a soft spot for Funnies, as he is sometimes known and is a valuable asset to the team.

Aubs was born in Utha and began working for Djuma in 1984, when Vuyatela was still a private camp belonging to the Moolman's. Aub's is now the resident guide at Galago and a big hit with all the guests, who just keep writing rave reviews about. A true gentleman and we are very lucky to have someone of his calaber in the organisation.

By the beginning of 1995 business was brisk, and Jurie and I were starting to feel the strain of running the lodge on a round-the-clock basis. Jurie was driving, and walking, guests, organizing the camp maintenance, administration, entertainment, and anything else that needed doing, while I, among other things, was cooking, helping with the housekeeping, coordinating the guests’ activities, and battling with the garden.
