Yellowbilled Stork Mycteria ibis
These birds are found in Africa South of the Sahara desert, frequenting rivers, dams, floodplains and marshes. They are considered to be a non-breeding, inter-African migrant. They can often be found with other wading birds and almost never found alone. They are known to breed in Kwazulu-Natal from June to August. Both sexes incubate for about 30 days. Their main diet is fish and frogs, insects and small mammals. |
