Whitefaced Owl Outs leucotis
They are found in most of Southern Africa, but not in the southern regions of the country, living in woodland savannah areas to riverine bush. They will usually be found alone or in pairs and are considered to be common with their range and seen all year round. They will breed from May to November; incubation is done by both parents, lasting for upto 30 days. They specialise in feeding on the Multi Mammate Mouse but do take other rodents, up to the size of Tree Squirrels. |
