Cape Turtle Dove Streptopelia capicola

Cape Turtle Dove

They can be found from East Africa to Southern Africa and are considered to be a very common bird, found all year round. They can be found from woodland areas and farmland to suburbia. They will either move about by themselves or in pairs but have been recorded in flocks of hundreds near good food sources. They feed mainly on seed and grain and breed at any time of year.
