Swainson's Francolin Francolinus swainsonii
They are found in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Angola found mainly in the north and northeast of Southern Africa. They are found among thick bush areas or lightly wooded areas with grass cover and are either found alone, in pairs or coveys of upto 8 birds has been observed. They breed between Febuary and May. Incubation is only known form captive birds, which is upto 22 days. They feed on shoots, berries, roots, shoots and bulbs. |
