Steppe Buzzard Buteo buteo

These birds breed in North Africa and Eurasia, migrating to Southern Africa around October to April. They are common and individuals have been found 12 000km away in Russia. They are usually found alone but may form large flocks around good food sources. They are thought to have the best eyesight of all raptors. They are usually found around open area. They feed mainly on insects.
