Spurwing Goose Plectropterus gambensis

A large bird weighing up to 10kg, found mainly in the eastern regions of the country, but are not often seen in the Djuma area. They prefer large bodies of water and may be found in flocks of thousands in certain areas. They will feed on grain, fruits, aquatic vegetation, grass shoots and tubers.
