BIRD Sagittaruis Serpentarius They do not feed on snakes as regularly as believed. Snakes making up not more than 2% of their diet. They feed mainly on locust, grasshopper and lizards being the most common of their reptilian prey. Have a territory of between 20-50km squared. They are the only member of the family sagittariidae. They walk 2-3km in an hour and can cover 20-30km in a days hunting. They breed anytime of year on large flat platform of sticks on top of thorn trees mainly Acacias and incubate from 43-46 days
