Pygmy Kingfisher Ispidina picta
They are the smallest of the Southern African Kingfishers, normally found alone in coastal bush and forest and other suitable woodland areas. They are considered to be common in certain localities but are a migrant within Africa, which they do at night. Their main diet is insects but is also known to feed on spiders, small lizards and frogs. They mainly breed from October to December, incubation is not known. |
