Lesser Spotted Eagle Aquila pomarina

They are considered to be an uncommon, non-breeding palaeartic migrant. These birds breed in India, Russia and Eastern Europe. They are easily confused with other brown eagles in the area, preferring woodland and savannah areas and are found alone more often than not. The majority of these birds migrating to this country are immature birds. They are seen in the country from October to March. They feed mainly on small mammals also taking termites, frogs and birds.
