Little banded Goshawk Accipiter badius
Shikra is another name they are known by. They belong to the Accipiter family, which are small to medium raptors, which have short broad wings and long tails. They are normally found Alone and are a common resident. They may also be found in South and South East Asia and sometimes in Australia. They are not shy, like other members of this group. They will breed from September to November. The incubation is done chiefly by the female and will last for around 30 days. They take mainly lizards and small birds. |
