Kurrichane Buttonquial Turnix sylvatica

They can be found in Southern Asia, Southern Africa and South Western Europe. They are considered to be uncommon, but they can be found all year round and are nomadic at times. They can usually be found in pairs and small groups. They do breed in all months of the year but seem to show a peak around October to March. Interestingly the female feeds the male token food items during courtship. Incubation lasts upto 15 days. Males incubate during the daytime. Feeding on insects and seeds.
