RED
CRESTED KORHAAN Eupodotis ruficrista They are a fairly large bird and is found on the ground. They can fly but are hardly ever seen in flight. They have well camouflaged feathers and will prefer to hide rather than fly. The males have a red tuft at the back of the head but is not visible unless erected. The males have a strange courtship display, where they will fly into the air and fold the wing and plummet back to earth, opening the wings just before hitting the ground. They will nest on the ground, incubation is unknown.
