Hadeda Ibis Bostrychia hagedash

They are a very common resident of Southern Africa, found in grassland, bushveld, large gardens and playing fields. They move around in flocks numbering upto 20 birds or 100 out of breeding season. They will breed from July to January in this area, incubation done by both parents, lasting upto 28 days. The young are independent at about 40 days. They will eat mainly earthworms but also take insects, spiders and small reptiles.
