DARK
CHANTING GOSHAWK Melierax metabates They are a fairly large bird, having orange legs and orange ceres. They are most often seen perching conspicuously on dead trees, from which they look out for prey items. They will feed mainly on small reptiles and mammals as well as insects. They make their nests in the canopy of large trees and will breed from August to November. The incubation period is still unknown but is thought to be around 30 days.
