Freckled Nightjar Caprimulgus tristigma
They are considered to be very common in some areas and are found over most of Southern Africa. They are normally found alone or in pairs amongst wooded and bushy areas with rocky out crops in this area. They, like most other nightjars feed on flying insects, roosting on rocks during the day. They will breed from August to December; incubation is done by the male at night and the female during the day, lasting for up to 19 days. |
