FORK TAILED DRONGO Dicrurus adsimilisdrongo.jpg (25434 bytes)

These are common in the area and will often be seen around animals moving through the bush, even vehicles. The reason for this is that they will catch insects which are disturbed by the animals passing. They are a mixture between the flycatchers and the shrikes. This mixture allowing them to be very maneuverable in the air and giving them antagonistic nature. They are often seen attacking birds of prey much larger than themselves. They will nest in a horizontal lying fork of a tree and the female will incubate for about 16 days.
