Double Banded Sandgrouse Pterocles bicinctus
They are found from the Southern regions of Namibia and the northern regions of the Cape to the Transvaal and are common within their range. They are usually found in dry bushveld areas normally moving about in pairs. They will breed from May to July, incubation only known from captive bird. Done by the male in the day and female at night, lasting upto 19 days. They eat small dry seeds. |
