Blackbellied Korhaan Epodotis melanogaster

They can be found in cultivated land, bushveld, grassland and vlei areas. They are usually found alone or in pairs. They are a relatively relaxed bird, moving off in close proximity, when approached. They will breed from October to Febuary. Incubation has only been recorded in captive birds and was done by the female for a period of 23 days. They feed on vegetation and insects.
