Barn Owl Tyto alba

They are probably the most widely distributed bird in the world and are very wide spaced in Southern Africa. They are common within certain areas and are usually found in pairs, in a variety of habitats with suitable roosting holes. Upto 90% of their diet consists of rodents, but will take small birds and reptiles when not available. They will breed from Febuary to March, only the female does the incubating which lasts for upto 32 days.
