African Goshawk Accipiter tachiro

They are found in the north-eastern regions of Southern Africa. The are usually found alone or in pairs and can be seen in early morning and afternoon flying above their territory calling. They hunt in dense riverine bush and are present all year round, common in their areas. They breed from September to November. Only the female who sits for around 35 days does the incubation. Their main prey is birds but do take small lizards and mammals.
