Burchell's Coucal Centropus burchellii
They are only found in the extreme north, south and eastern regions of the country, living in riverine and other lush thickets. They are considered to be common within their range and move about in pairs or alone. They will eat frogs, insects and have been recorded eating birds upto the size of laughing doves. They will breed in the months of September to Febuary, with both parents thought to incubate the eggs, for upto 18 days. |
