Hi all People have been asking how the Djuma dams are doing, all are still full, except for Gowrie dam at Vuyatela (the dam wall of course broke earlier in the year with the floods). Below are photos of the three other dams on Djuma itself, I took these photos yesterday – 17 July 2012. [...]
About Djuma
Djuma Game Reserve is an exclusive reserve in the prestigious Sabi Sand which is part of the greater Kruger National Park. It is here that the Big Five roam. Come experience the real, wild Africa in the comfortable luxury of two beautiful lodges: Vuyatela and Galago. Both lodges are self-catering and offer the best in safari at affordable rates. Follow us on Facebook or Twitter for all the latest news from Djuma.
A new viewing deck at Galago
We have built a new viewing deck at Galago which overlooks a clearing in front of the lodge. From here you can glimpse a shy Nyala or observe an elephant stripping a tree.

Yoga at Vuyatela
It was an amazing experience being in this raw, expansive environment and combining it with the yoga. The richness of the land and all the amazing animals that we saw, together with the yoga made Djuma Private Game Reserve the perfect place for our retreat. The facilites were exceptional, the service was great. We couldn’t have asked for [...]

How to make a lodge in two months – the new Galago is open!
Today, 2nd of April 2012, Galago Camp has re-opened on our own land, right alongside Vuyatela! This has been no small accomplishment as the builders only moved onto site at the end of January, and have worked tirelessly with only one weekend off since then. Jurie and I imagined what our new lodge would look like, [...]

The dam wall has been fixed!
We were very saddened when we lost our dam wall during the floods and so are ecstatic to have had an opportunity to have it fixed. Thanks to Willem Botha and the guys at Mashova who in four days transformed the battered and damaged dam wall into a proper wall with spillways that should allow it to survive the [...]
