Djuma dams

Hi all

People have been asking how the Djuma dams are doing, all are still full, except for Gowrie dam at Vuyatela (the dam wall of course broke earlier in the year with the floods). Below are photos of the three other dams on Djuma itself, I took these photos yesterday – 17 July 2012.

Buffelshoek dam, still full and overflowing

Twin dam, still holding water well, but it is a shallow pan. The hippo had to kneel to cover himself with water!

Treehouse dam, also still holding water and serene and pretty as ever!

Thank you for the refreshing looks at the other dams at Djuma. Perhaps one day a camera could be placed near one of the other dams. Am missing you all and thanking you for a glimpse into the bush again. Have a great day.

So glad to see the other dams have a good supply of water. Hope Gowrie will be totally replenished when the rains come. Am still missing the game drives terribly.

Thank you so much for these beautiful pictures of the other Djuma Dams. It is so good to know that there is still plenty of water for the magnificent animals residing at Djuma Game Reserve. I too have wondered about relocating the cameras to another watering hole. I am sure it would take a lot of work and possibly money. It is just so sad to see the the puddle at Gowrie Dam.Thank you for all you do.

Thanks a million for the pictures; it was so good to see the other dams and the memories they bring. Missing everyone and the drives and most of all the animals. Thanks again for sharing and letting us peak into the bush.

Thank you Jurie! I understand you went and took the pictures of the other waterholes and dams to show there is still water for the animals. I’m looking forward to the rainy season when Gowrie dam will get more precious water and look beautiful as it was before the dam break. There is so much beauty in the bush where you are. I feel so connected to Djuma and it’s lovely to see pictures or hear any news on the animals, especially our royal leopard family. Thank you for thinking of us, the fans.
