I’m sorry to hear that the damage in the area is so extensive and I hope you will at least be able to be back in business at the lodge soon. That was a very destructive storm and a lot needs to be done before we can expect the camera to be back in working order. I hope the dam wall will be able to be repaired too! Keeping you all in my prayers. Glad that no one was injured during the storm!

What an amazing storm that was! So glad to hear everyone is okay. I will keep imagining bulldozers pushing dirt to repair the Gowrie dam–hoping it can be fixed for you and the animals! ♥

WE are all thinking of you and I know most of us wish we could be there in person to help out. Since I, at least, can’t, I can send you my prayers and blessings. Not to worry about the cam, you will get it going again when you can…. we all know that. Hang in there and stay safe.

Service roads generally are the last to be funded so I understand the difficulty. Just so pleased that everyone is okay!! You have fixed the dam before and it can be done again in time. In the meantime the animals will not need the dam as I bet there is still water EVERYWHERE!!! It will take a while to disappear. Do yolu know how the other three dams on Djuma fared? Buffelshoek dam, Treehouse dam and Twin dams ? I imagine that there was a rush of water into all three as they are on drainage lines.

We will all miss the cameras, but essential needs must come first. Hope you will find time occasionally to post a few photos on FB or the blog, but if not we will still be here waiting. So long as everyone is well and uninjured that is the main thing.

What’s important is taking care of the people and the infrastructure so necessary for them. Once that happens, we will all rejoice when the camera comes back online but believe me, we all understand where your first priorities should be.
